There are many different types of settings techniques available, to secure and set loose diamonds and gems.  By combining metal type and gemstones shape, different setting plays a crucial role in show casting your gemstones to its best.  Here are a list of some of the common and beautiful settings. 

Prong Setting

The prong setting is also known as the claw setting. This is a classic setting for a diamond engagement ring.  It securely held a single gemstone on top of the ring, with four or six prongs.   This setting allows light to travel through the diamond, maximizing it's luster and beauty.  Prong setting is also suitable for almost all shape of gemstones.

Channel Setting

When setting a row of gemstones, the best way to present them is to set gemstones closely together at the sides of the band or entire band into a groove or channel between two vertical metal walls.  So that girdle is protected and table of the gemstones will create a sparkling row that's flush with the shank.

Bezel Setting

The Bezel setting can be full or partial, it embraced a center gemstone with a thin rim of metal custom made to hold the stone at the girdle and tightly in place.  The bezel setting can be customized according to the shape of your chosen stone.

Pave Setting

The pavé setting, pronounced "pa-vay," is derived from the French word "to pave,".  Small diamond and gemstones are set in a tiny drilled hole into the band and secure them with minimal visibility of small beads or mini-prong.  It gives an uninterrupted diamond in the band and adds overall brilliance and beauty.

Halo Setting

The halo setting features a single row of small accent diamond surrounding a center stone.  It gives the center stone a larger look and enhances the overall appearance of your ring.  If you want to make a statement, you can opt for double or triple halo designs. As each halos, add extra glitz and glimmer to any ring.
